All are welcome to attend this workshop, however, there will be no loaner instruments available.

The workshop will be taught using a "D" whistle. There will be whistles available for purchase at the Celtic Heritage table in the large pavilion; Don also may have a supply of instruments available for purchase.

An introduction to the culture of the Celtic nation of Brittany ... hear the language and learn a word or two ... hear the music and learn a dance (or maybe two).

Youth Pavilion Morning / Afternoon
11:30  Mountain Dulcimer for Beginners with Nancy Minard
A few "loaner" instruments may be available.

12:30  Introduction to the Highland Fling with Audrey Trawick
Learn the basics of the most familiar of all the Scottish Highland dances.
(Instruction geared toward ages 5 - 17, but all are welcome.)

1:30  Didgeridoo with Didgeridrew
A make and take workshop in which Drew Reid, of Albannach, guides participants in making their own didgeridoos and teaches how to play this Aboriginal Australian instrument. (Materials provided for the construction of 20 instruments. Participation by sign-up; first come, first served; priority given to children. Observers - particularly parents of participating children - are welcome!)

3:00  Introduction to the Sword Dance with Audrey Trawick
The Scottish Sword Dance is an ancient dance of war. You will learn (peacefully!) the basics of this iconic dance.
